About the role
**Role overview** HiredFrex is looking for an Editorial Assistant to help prepare clear, useful career and workplace articles for publication. You’ll support the editorial process from research and drafting through fact-checking, editing, and publishing. This role suits someone with strong writing skills, sound editorial judgement, and an interest in helping readers make informed decisions about work. **What you’ll do** - Research article topics and identify trustworthy, relevant sources. - Draft and edit articles, guides, headlines, summaries, and social captions. - Check facts, dates, links, names, and claims before publication. - Help structure articles so readers can find and understand key answers quickly. - Apply SEO fundamentals, including search intent, descriptive headings, and accurate page details. - Use AI tools thoughtfully for research or workflow support, then verify facts and ensure the final work is original and useful. - Upload and format content in the website’s content management system. - Coordinate edits and deadlines with the HiredFrex team. - Assist with adapting published articles into other formats where needed.
Requirements
- Strong written English and careful proofreading skills.
- Ability to research a topic, assess sources, and distinguish verified facts from unsupported claims.
- Clear, reader-focused writing and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with SEO basics, such as search intent, headings, and descriptive titles.
- Interest in AI tools and the judgement to check their output rather than publish it without review.
- Good organisation, communication, and follow-through.
- A writing sample, coursework, portfolio, or other example of relevant work.
- CMS, analytics, or basic image accessibility experience is helpful; it is not essential.
